On Moderation Day teachers from all subject areas and grade levels meet to discuss their grading practices and make sure that students across the system are being marked the same (one teachers A looks the same as another teachers A). These photos below are from one of the Senior Art teachers groups, there were about 6 groups this size for the ACT. Every teacher has to make a package from one of their students work including; visual diaries, essays, rubrics that have been filled, teacher comments and critiques as well as all project and large work. All teachers look at the assessment to make sure it is valid and then two forms are filled out, one that goes to the principal of each school and one that goes to the BSSS (governing body of curriculum?). Such a fascinating experience. All subject area's do this including dance, drama, phys ed, etc
